June Memories

June has been filled with many achievements and joy. Our Boys and Girls Soccer teams were the finalists and champions at the Fiesta Tournament this month. The St. Brendan’s Track and Field team placed fourth overall at St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS Area Track and Field meet. On June 6th & 7th students had a wonderful opportunity integrating math concepts with movement. From quarter turns to making numbers with their bodies, SBN students had a great time milling to music, dancing with energy and problem solving with fun!

Kindergarten registration for the 2018-19 school year begins on Monday January 8, 2018. The following times are recommended for registration at St. Brendan CES, 9:30am-11:30am and 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Drop & Go Program

The St. Brendan Drop and Go program will not be running this school year. Unfortunately this parent volunteer run program does not have the number of volunteers needed for the program to run efficiently and more importantly safely. If throughout the year we receive more interest from those in our St. Brendan Community who are able to volunteer we will certainly look into bringing the program

Terry Fox Run

On Monday October 2 2017, the students watched a brief presentation in the gym regarding Terry Fox’s perseverance and courage. The students walked/ran around the schoolyard with school spirit as they wore their red and white colours for the event. The school reached their goal in raising $1104.40 for Terry Fox.

St. Brendan recently received a variety of organized games and activities on the schoolyard this past week. Ms. Hulshof’s class provided input as well as designed and revised all of the activities that were included on the playground. Terry Fox Run & Canada 150 Tree Planting

St. Brendan will be having its own Terry Fox event on Wednesday September 27th 2017. A Toonie donation will help us reach a goal of $1000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

York Catholic District School Board Plans for New Multi-Use School Facility in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville

The York Catholic District School Board was pleased last year when the Ministry of Education approved the funding for a  multi-use school in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. The multi-use school will consist of a secondary school, an elementary school and a child care centre.
