Bike to School Week – May 29th – June 2nd

Bike to School Week is a free and fun week long celebration across Ontario for kids of all ages and abilities.  Students and staff are encouraged to ride their bikes to school and benefit from: improved physical and mental health, less pollution, reduced traffic and safer school zones.  When cycling, remember to:

  • wear a properly fitting helmet (every cyclist under the age of 18 must wear a helmet)
  • check your tires, brakes and chain before you start riding
  • Ensure your bike has a working bell, a white light or reflector at the front and a red light or reflector at the back
  • Walk beside your bike when crossing the road
  • Watch for cars backing out of driveways and turning at intersections
  • Be visible and dress for the weather
